Default Tuning Question??

Would I be wasting money buying a handheld tuner if I am planning on getting a dyno tune sometime this summer??

ya if you are going to get a dyno tune. i didn't read you mods so im assunimg you are N/A and there is not rewally that much of a reasion if you are not built or blown to spend them money on a dyno tune. just get a SCT Xcal2 and you will be happy

The dyno will fine tune the a/f ratio, but if you are N/A you would be pretty safe in just getting a handheld tuner and running with it. Mail order tunes for N/A engines tend to be pretty good.

Well if you get the brand that your local dyno tuning company supports then they can tweak your tune to optimal performance on the dyno for cheaper than they would a full tune. My local shop uses SCT so this summer I'll be taking mine to them for some tweaks on the dyno...

I wouldnt get a dyno tune until you are either done completely with your boltons and just want every little bit of hp possible, or you go FI. Plus with a handheld tuner, you can do calibrate for gears/tires and turn of your O2 sensors. Personally, I wouldnt waste the money on a dyno tune, I'd just get a handheld....
