Default this sucks..

just bought an 02 GT about 3 weeks ago, car is falwless.. low miles, women owned non-smoker..

first install was a pro-5.0 shifter..

everything is running great.. car is strong etc etc..

well to night, drving home.. i get up high in rpms in 1st shift 2nd get high in rpms (notice a bad viration on the ****), didnt think anything of it, shift thrid, then 4, 5th.. cruise..

get to a light..

drving normal going through 1st- 2nd, it goes in 2nd for a sec, then pops out.. put it back in.. then go to third.. and so on

next light..

normal driving.. 1st... no second.. keeps poping out.. slight grind while trying to hold it in and realsing clutch.. put back in 1st, and do a hard 1-2 it sticks.. proceed to go throgh gears..

almos home..

1st... 2nd will not go in and stay in.. pops out... goes in 3rd.. goes in 4th.. pops out.. no 4th... and 5th is good..

so now i have no 2nd, nor 4th..

car has 24k on it.. is this something that is popular with these tranny's.. i dont think i have the T-45, i have 365 i think. and i have warrenty on the car.. soo.. anything i should look into b4 i get it replaced?

this sucks.. only had the car 3 weeks

You have the 3650. Sounds like you installed the shifter wrong for some reason. [&:]

One question, is this you're first 5-spd?

Regardless, you're right, you don't have the T-45, You have the TR-3650. They are notoriously weak 1-2 and 3-2 syncro's. There is actually a TSB on it. BUT, if the car is still under warranty, take it to Ford and make them fix it, that is what I would do. Especially after only 3 weeks. This leads me to believe the previous owner may have abused the tranny, too many power shifts and the syncro's are gone... (Im sure someone will back me up on this). Just my .02

Speaking of shifters, did you follow the instructions properly? If you don't set the stops you can damage the shift forks, and if that's the case, ford won't fix it... in fact, I'm not sure if you voided the warranty with the shifter install...

errrr.. did you put like a mm between the shifter bolt thingies? you gotta leave a small gap between them on both the top andbottom ones.

yes we adjusted the stops accordingly... atleast we thought..

all my buddies have mustangs.. 96 cobra 04 cobra 99 gt, 94 gt... list can go on..

i dont mind, why i got the bumper to bumper warrenty.. so just incase this did happen.. i was just wondering if this is natorious with these tranny's lloosing 2nd and 4th.. so i know what not to do when i get mine rebuilt

It sounds like you have an aftermarket warranty, unless you read the fine print, some aftermarket warranty's have strict policies about aftermarket parts that the auto manufacturers can't get away with.

You may want to swap your shifter for your stock one.
