That's part of dealing with folks who like Mustangs...actually it's part of dealing with people in general. Opinions are likebutt holeseverybody has one and everybody's stinks but your own. The thing is with sports car owners we tend to get a bit heated in discussing nearly anything. Something to do with the personality of owning/wanting power.

It is all a matter of taste, and they're all great cars. If your looking cheap go pre-98. If you can find a Cobra in that range, you'll get serious performance for a decent price. The 5.0 crowd will tell you 5.0 is better period. If that's your take go with a pre-94(fox body) 5.0 LX. LX looked boxier than the GT but was somewhere in the neighborhood of 300 lbs lighter. If you like the newer body style the 95-96 model year was 5.0, but weaker for some reason. 96 begins the 4.6L but as stated runs around 215hp but lighter than the newer 260hp. Observation is the newer (99+) cars will smoke the 96-98.

Fact of the matter is finding a fox body worth your time will be difficult. Most will be rode hard and put up wet and ragged out a long time ago. The same goes for anything that's more than a few years old. You'll have to be picky if you go for something older than say 99. Prices go up accordingly though. How much you lookin' to spend?

Anytime you ask for a general opinion around here your going to get lots of them!!

I dont know that much about civic's and integra's either but I know you just listed 3 completely different cars. You are rarely ever gonna see a type R anything. Those are made strictly in Japan and would have to be specially imported over here. I hightly doubt the Integra GS-R is runnign low 15's. I know Civic Si's arent running low 15's because I told u about my friend with the modded Si and he runs low 15's and that is a quite moddified car. The SN95 is putting out the same amount of power as my car is. 215 hp 285 torque only major difference I know of is that it has the 5.0 instead of the 4.6. I'm not completely sure about that though so dont quote me on it. My 96 GT is suppose to be running high 14's low 15's.Havent taken it to the dragsyet to be sure of that but that is what numerous people have said.None of those cars you listed except the type R's will run 15's.

I aint knocking 4 cylinder stangs either. I said if you keep them stock then civic's might be able to keep up with it. There are some really good 4 cylinder stangs out there.

you clearly said edmunds says a little over 2k lbs for a 96.

as for the GSR (and all those other hondas), why is it a guy who sometimes posts here broke into th 14's when you claim they cant even hit 15's? because you dont know what youre talking about. they're at least high 15 second cars. PS did you ever think that maybe your friend is a bad driver? cause you should.

You are right Jugador that was my mistake I accidentally did type 2000, I meant to type 3000. 99+ weight 3200 and 96-98 weight right around that I think but I'm not positive of that.

Maybe we are talking about different stocks. by stock I mean off the factory line. All parts original. With all original parts no Si is runninglow 15's. GSR's are only integras not civics. and like I said type R's probably run low 15's or better. All I know is that no stock civic besides the type R could roll with me.

a 95 civic si hatchback is a hatchback with the civic ex sohc engine, it's slow and fuel-efficient. The civic coupe si beginning in '99 comes with the b16a dohc, completely different car from the 95 civic si. The coupe si, integra gsr, and preludes all run similar stock times at low 15's.
