Default magna flow question

ive got a magnaflow cat back w/an o/r h-pipe right now at low rpms 1k-2.5k or so they make a loud popping sound over 2.5k they sound great i love the sound of them at high rpms and at idle but i hate that popping noise they make im thinking its the midpipe that is making it sound like that more than anything my friend has a pro chamber for sale for pretty cheap i was wondering if that would help the popping going away or if an o/r x-pipe would sounds better w/the catback any help would be great im just looking to get rid of that sound but i definenlty want to keep an o/r pipe or some sort

The popping noise would probably be muffled with a Pro-Chamber but it would still be there a little bit. Did it make the popping noise before you put the O/R pipe on, or did you do the midpipe first/at the same time?

sounds like your computer is getting pissed. Do you have any intake mods done? How about a tuner or a tune?

You just dropped the back pressure the factory settings in the computer were looking for on low RPMS. This is why when I get my mid pipe it will have high flow cats...

these cars unless fully modded to the max do indeed need backpressure on the exhaust.

I started with the magnaflow catback then added a UPR O/R X-pipe. I liked the sound, but I kept hearing the H pipe had such a deeper muscular sound, so I bought a MAC O/R H-pipe, and got just what you're describing, otherwise awesome sound! I even remember other guys saying they got it to... So, I just sold the H and went back to the X, and have been happy since... other than an exhaust leak I've been too lazy to fix. I bought a new gasket also, but can't seem to find it now...

take that spark plug out of your exhaust. Wont get flames or popping [8D] nah im jk. With o/r pipes sometimes during deacceleration there is a popping sound... its happens..

the O/R pipe is your problem.

Although, I got it sometimes with the SLP's and a catted Mac H, not constant though.
