Yea I heard a clip of LM1 + O/R H and I really liked the sound except the popping and random noises. It was a nice deep tone tho...
Yea I hear ya, a lot of people like the deepness of the H. But remember at low rpms, the X is very deep as well. Its just when you get on it, it gets a little higher pitched, but I think the X sounds much better than the H all around, IMO.

Ive just always heard good things about X-pipes, plus the car comes stock with an H, I don't want to put one back on =)
( ^^ Yes I know its aftermarket and that was a dumb statement, but its funny and 1/2 true for me at least, lol )
Yea I'm gonna go with the VRS O/R X.

Now time to decide what my next mod is gonna be. Either a T-Body + Plenum + Cai, or gears.
thats a no brainer. gears

Thats what I was thinking but the same price I could get some more power and something cool under the hood. I don't do any racing really and drive like a Grandpa most of the time so I don't know how much pleasure gears would give me right now... But some 4.30s would increase the fun lvl quite a bit I bet....

I have the Pypes o/r X-pipe. It's a very good quality, came with the O2 sensor plug ins all ready built. I got it installed for right at 150 and paid 170 for it off of Ebay from the mustang warehouse store.

You paid $170 to get installed? That seems a little high. I would have a shop install mine if they could do it legally... I guess I am on my own though...

I paid 150. They had to do a little manipulation to get it in there right and also fixed some other little mess ups that the last people who put the flowmasters on did. So it was really just 3 hours on labor.

funny i just posted a thread about a guys 96-98 cobra vrs o/r x pipe fitting on my 96gt. turns out it does and i have a mac catback and with this it should sound amazing. heres a clip of this setup on a cobra and its the best exhaust ive ever heard on any mustang.

btw what coating would you guys recommend putting on the aluminized one? i was thinking of spraying down the whole thing with a few coats of high temp flat black spray paint i have. my exhaust had some of its durablack coating rubbed off so i sprayed it with the high temp stuff.

I've got the pypes violator cat back with a VRS catted x pipe. It sounds great but I think I robbed myself by putting cats on my x pipe without even hearing the exhaust without the cats.
