Default sick of 2v....

i know im still young but i like to look at my car as an investment.. and 450 on the internals is not something i am looking forward too... What i would really like to do is get like an used sti or maybe even a 99-01 cobra, something with better internals... if im gonna spend a couple grand, i want it to be will worth it and see some good numbers!! anyone else agree or am i crazy?[:-]

I agree, I am doing the same thing as you, was going to get an STi, but decided on a Terminator instead! In about a year, I think you will grow tired of the STi, and want to go back with a 'Stang, but a 4 valve .

Get an 01 Cobra, not too much. I am sure you could find one for ~$14k. 99 cobra is the exact same but some had problems where it did not have the HP (305) as advertised. So take your choice, but stay with a 'Stang!

...or you could just build a better motor maybe? Cheaper than a new car and more satisfying, too.

Buy a car like mine and put forged internals in it, if you plan on going s/c and spray. But you can go s/cand you cangive itas muchboost as you want andas long as you dont go lean it out youshould be ok...96-98 Cobra's has the strongest block ever put into a factory mustang. Theres a guy local that owns a few resturaunts, and he has all kinds of cars, along with anew STI withallkinds of mods, and he's alwaystellin me stories about him'Callin People Out' and smokin them, and howhe has never lost, but he has never once'called me out' against none of his cars

99-01 Cobras have the same bottom end limit as a 99-04 GT

I am kinda sick of my 2v as well, but without engine work every mustang except a termie is limited at or around 450rwhp. Why not buy a forged block for 4k and up the boost on a power adder? Once you get into insane power up and over 600rwhp you are gonna have to really work hard to get all that to the ground. ie suspension, slicks/ drag radials, etc. Not to mention supporting mods like tranny, rearend, clutch, etc. 450rwhp would give you a car that would only have difficulties killing all but the most extreme machines out there
