try to cover your electrical and try to use some engine cleaner or brake cleaner instead of water....

does real good job at gettingunwanted grease off.

Just cover your air intake and don't spray water directly on the battery and computer. Buy some engine degreaser from Autozone!

I used to be a detailer for a car dealership in highschooland we degreased with a low power degreaser (some will trash your engine if you're not careful) scrub with a tire brush everything but the battery and the computer and hose it down. After that we hit all the black with a product similar to tire wet and make that **** shiny. Also, if there's a lot of sand and **** don't be afraid to stick a vacuum in there.

The cars I detailedwere a little less complicated to clean then my stang though, mostly jags mercedes bmws stupid **** like that. (Stangs motor is annoying to detail.)

I just clean mine at the carwash. (If the motor is cool) I wrapped papertowels around the coil packs, battery, and maybe alternator. I used low power, rinsed it all off, hit it quick with Mean Green and a brush, rinsed again. Then I used an olddd bottle of Son of a Gun that I found in the bottom of the closet to shine up the plastics. Worked like a charm and was easy as pie.
