Default Getting new mid-pipe

I’m registering my car down here in MS and they do not require emissions like back in VA so I am going to switch to an o/r midpipe. I have a Mac catted h-pipe and love the way it sounds but want it to be louder. Will getting an Mac o/r h-pipe make my car much louder or do I need to go with a o/r x-pipe to really wake the exhaust note up?

any midpipe without cats will be louder than a midpipe with cats.

By a noticeable amount? Im just afraid that if I get the same midpipe I have now in the o/r form I wont be happy with the sound difference.

To be honest I like the deep sound my h-pipe gives me but its just not loud enough. I know going o/r will make it louder im just not sure how much louder it will be. If I can keep the deep h-pipe sound and get the car noticeably louder then ill go with the h-pipe.

o/r h will be a bit louder than an x.

Ok good. I have never been a huge x-pipe fan and didnt want to turn to the dark side. Plus the h-pipe is cheaper.

A word of advise. The Mac offroad X-pipe (2006 model) for 99-04 mustang gt's have a very difficult time sealing at the collector on the passenger side. Will it increase DB level? Oh yes. I had to replace mine with a high flow Bassani. Too loud for the "not so young" enthusiast.

O/R H no question about it. If you like the deep rumble of the H but want louder, get the o/r h and you won't be disappointed.
