Everytime I wash my car about once a week or even two, i wax her. My buddy tells me that i should not wax it everytime i wash it.

Is he crazy or is he right?[&:]

 

As long as you use a good car wash soap to remove the prior coat of wax so you can remove the contaminets. Because if you dont give it a good wash the wax will hold some contiments then you wax it so it just going to be stuck in between the old and new wax. So give it a good wash and wax . I wax every week.

 

You can't wax it too much, the wax won't do it any harm, however, unless you're real careful, you make some new swirl marks every time you wash/wax the car, more frequent washing/waxing means more swirl marks over time... Swirl is taken care of by a good polish session like once a year, or every two years. So, basically, he's crazy

There are some waxes that will build up silicon over time if not stripped well when waxing.

 

The car I had before my Stang I used to wax it all the time and I would use a cleaner on it as well. I do not recommend it, it evently started to mess up the paint. Some areas lost that nice mirror look, and they looked hazy. You have to be careful with what you use. The car was black and we all know how black shows everything including swirl marks. I opted for a white car this time.

 

As long as the car is very clean before you wax, you won't harm anything. BUT...I think you are wasting a lot of time and effort. IMO waxing every week is kinda like getting your hair cut every day...
