Default 03' Cobra Engine

Anyone know what it would cost to swap in a 03' cobra engine. I am pretty sure I'd have to swap the fuel pumps and tranny in addition to the engine, plus a new set of LT's. Anyone know how crazy a swap this is? and the details? or should I just get a 5.4l instead, or just TT my 4.6?

Its not that it is a crazy swap. Just more expensive and hard to find. You would have to get the cobra computer, tranny, motor, and all the other supporting stuff that make the motor possible. Its out there. If you can find a cobra that was totalled in the backend or the sides, the motor and tranny should all be good yet. If you can find that, go for it. If money wasn't an issue, either buy a cobra or fully forge a GT and turbo it.

So would my GT with ported PI heads and forged bottom end be in the same ballpark as a Cobra. I know the 4V heads outflow the GT's like mad. The question is, with Twin Turbo's or a big SuperCharger, does that matter? Or does that just mean I need more boost to get the same power?

no, you'd probably be in the 280ish crank hp range with just ported PI heads, and if that's all you do you deffinetly wouldn't need to forge your motor. forge the motor and put a turbo/supercharger on it running high boost you will be able to beat a terminator cobra.

I ment. After doing Twin Turbo's and forging the engine. Will I be able to keep up with/beat or what not, a built up Cobra with similar mods. Does the flow differance of the Cobra heads make it that much better?

To put it simple a cobra with the same mods and setup would crush your 2v. The4v just makes that muchmore power. Now lets put that into reality. If you had a 500rwhp GT, hardly anything on the road would keep up with it including mildly modded cobras.

Good luck finding that setup! You find the motor out of a terminator, and you have found the holy grail of 4.6 motors. If you happen to get your hands on that engine, i'd go over the motor with a fine toothed comb.Chances are whoever has it, will try to overcharge you.
