What to do first?
Well my first pay in August is gong to leave me with a few thousand dollars to play with, but I'm not sure what to do. I have a 99 cobra (Once I find a nice DD it will no longer be driven daily) it has a few mods, nothing much... x pipe, catback, diablo tune, short throw, jlt rai, and some appearance mods. What to do next? My dream was to TT it but if I do that I wanna get some serious a$$ dyno numbers which means everything including the stock fuel system needs to be changed out. Instead I'm thinking a paxton novi 2000rr since they are so versitile and cheap (sort of). Also I'm going to forge the shortblock, go with P&P fr500 heads and some blower cams, and to top it off replace the tranny with an mmr 750 and the IRS with a solid 8.8. BUT what do I do first???
Forge that thing. The key to astrong runng motor is a good foundation. So make the bottom endbulletproof, then do cams/heads, then boost the hell out of it...thats what id do atleast...[&:]
Supercharge that Bad boy... Get a GOOD tune stay around Mid-High 300's and ur SAFE
Its no fun Building the car up, and waiting a year or more to play..
With the S/c Now, you can Play Safely..... and when you build the Motor, u can play a Little harder and so on......... Untill everything is Built

Thanks for the replies. Supercharge is leading the way. Paxton claims a 99 cobra will lay down 400rwhp with 7-8psi stock of course aside from the SC. I'm guessing a safe 400rwhp tune and until I have the $$$ for the other stuff. Not sure yet though. I also read in a 4.6 book by sean hyland that with a cammed, ported fr500 heads and 99/01 intake, with a stroked 5.0 cobra block will yeild about 500 horses at the fly wheel. add a blower on that and I'm thinking at 18+ psi I should be able to lay down some decent numbers.
actually you should go with the 03 cobra heads, they are the best flowing 4.6 DOHC heads, better than the FR500. If you're putting in everything you say you are, why not just go all out with the TT? You're changing out a lot of other things anyways, if you keep your regular heads, and cams, you would save alot of money and be able to switch everything out and get the TT setup and put alot more power down, cause P&Ped 03 cobra heads don't come cheap, and aftermarket cams for the 4v especially don't come cheap.
Since you have a 99 cobra i would make sure you have what you paid for, because they had a big recall on those engines because they were not even making what the gt's were makin that year. You will find this out though when you go to the dyno, but go with the novi 2000, from what ive read those can put down some serious numbers when done right.
