yikes!
i posted before about my car doing a weird shaking at low rpms...people said my cyclinder was prob misfiring...well, i dont have that prob anymore lol she's parked for a few days...got about 2miles from home and my coil broke off *the plastic broke* and then the threads that the plug goes in were stripped so my plug jumped out and i got a loud popping sound the whole way home... dont be jealous of my sweet 7banger...dad says theres a coil made for stripped ones so its not a huge deal...but damn it sucked!
damn, your head is stripped, that means you aregoing to either need a new head or a coil that makes new threads in the head.... word to the wise get some one that you trust and really really knows how to do it. . . this has happen to me once and i had to replace the head, but once i got the new head the same spark plughas jump out of the same hole more then once. . . and this sound your talking about i know to well..... good luck man...............COST is cheapif no new head is needed
i got a helicoil, and i need a new coil pack because the plastic crackedaround the bolt holding it on... so far $32 for a helicoil, not sure how much a coil pack will cost..the guy at advanced auto says its real common on the 4.6s and the 5.4s and that he thinks there might be a class action lawsuit against ford for it...havent seen anything though, i googled it but not for long....i guess we'll find out
ok so...we retapped the head without taking it off... used a telescopic magnet with silicon on the end to get the shavings out, fired it up and it seems to run better than ever...so we will see!
oh, and im the original poster... i got rid of that sign on, ive had it since before i was even driving, got my car figured i would change my sign on..but anyways the car runs amazing now that i got all that fixed... zip tie and electric tape fixed my coil and high temp silicon and a helicoil put my plug back in! the car runs great now, its got a mild shake and rumble like it should from the cams and it has a lot more power now that all 8 cylinders are firing right
