Default Should I dump?

What is the difference between dumping and going with a full cat-back from a performance and sound point-of-view? I would like a louder car at idle as well as when I'm accelerating. I am looking at purchasing a MAC cat-back, but if I would get the same results from dumping right after my flowmaster 40s then I'll save the money.

Also, would it be weird to dump it and leave the tips just for looks?

I've always pondered this set-up, but not sure what the benefits are. [8D]

There is a little more drone inside the car, at least with Flowmasters but personally, I love the sound. When I had the 40s, it was actually a little more quiet at crusing speed. You can leave the tips for looks but I chose not to.

if you want alot louder go with a straight through resonator catback, such as packs/stingers/slp

+1 My stingers are plenty damn loud at WOT and I'm still running cats. Sound is all personal preference. I will say that if this will be a daily driver the dumps can get really annoying and deafening after a while. It will be exponentially louder inside the car. I would rather have the noise outside.
