alright i thinking about getting a pair of bbk shorty headers. right now mine are stock with 3 inch piping and flowmaster 40s without cats. im also thinking about losing my flows and putting on slps bullit style mufflers. would this be a bad or good idea of a setup

with your setup and 3" pipes you probably have a loss in power. LTs, and LM IIs. i would go back to 2.5".

I think you mean 3 in causes too little back pressure, killing power on the low end . 3 in isnt needed until 450 plus hp.

well dang that sucks then. i didnt put it on the guy before me did the setup. so other than that i should prob get a new setup then. suggestions?

His exhaust isn't going to cause a loss in power, it has been proven over and over again that backpressure is a MYTH so far as it loosing power, it just doesn't happen.

Shorties do suck though, they arn't going to make much/any power on your setup, its either LTs or leave the manifolds stock.

Where did you get 3 inch exhaust, have a shop custom make it?

hmm thatl save me some money then. ya i supplied the pipes and my car and they built it to fit my car. it costed a few paychecks and some saving up. but now that i know that i wont loose me power im a little happier.
