Well then I would go with a fox or an 03 cobra.

It kinda depends what you want. If you're looking for a 9 sec, all out drag car I'd probably gowith a big block fox mustang. If you're just looking for a fun yet quick car I would go for a 03 cobra. Or if you prefer the 05+ mustang body style then you could start there too. Personally I would give my left leg for a cobra but I do see the appeal of the 05+. They can just be sooooooo sexy.
I agree with this guy, for an all out drag car a built fox body would be great for it, but for an all-around performerwith the looks an 03/04 cobra would be your best bet, since you don't like the body style of the 05+'s.

a Fox body coupe with a pushrod 408 will get ya in the 9's easily with little effort and not alot of $$ as long as you spend the $$ on the right things. Build a decent motor ($7500), good suspension and start with a solid car and it will be easy.

Sorry if I came across as a *****. But I do know what you're talking about. As I am
a Financial Planner. I've been practicing for over 15 years. And manage over$50m in clients money.
It was none of my business to come across as lecturing you about how to spend your money.
No matter where you get it from. A twin turbo 4v fire breather would be fun to have. Once again
I apologize to you.
