Default cheap vs. expensive

I posted in tech, but I'll put it here too doesn't matter.

Fellas.. Comparing the prices of BBK, PYPES, MAC,and UPR products, let’s say on a cat. X-pipe, there is a hundred dollar difference between Bassani, SLP, and Magnaflow. Now I know most of you guys agree that the more expensive brands fit better, that’s not the issue. I want to know how much better, if at all, is the performance of the more expensive products? Someone is going to say they flow better. When you say they “flow better” how much better? A couple hp better? Could you notice a difference in a friends car with a BBK x pipe if you happen to have a Bassani one? And out of the CHEAPIES, which one is the best IYHO and out of the expensive ones which one is best. Is there any CHEAP ones that equal the flow of a more expensive one? Just asking. I want to make sure I’m paying for performance and not for a name.

The performance is about the same, regardless whatmanufactures claim. Construction quality and materials (like using stainless steel)is where it differs the most. Some like the SLP, Bassani and Magnaflow are "true" Xs while BBK is more like a X and H hybrid.

Tone however will be different on all of them, kinda like a guitar. A Les Paul wouldn't sound like a Les Paul if it were made from alder and had single coil pickups. That's why we have a strat. Most people won't hear that much of a difference, but youmight because you have a sound in your head that you're trying to acheive.....

What kinda catback are you running?

A Les Paul sounds like a Les Paul, but a Strat can sound like both! Sorry, O/T!

Stock right now. I don't think I will get one for a while because my brother has a Magnaflow cat back, and other than the sound, we're always neck and neck when we race. (Same car, 03 mach, 43000miles) I've heard rumors that a x pipe will give actual gains, so that's where I was going to spend my money. If that's wrong please let me know. With the money,I was going to do suspension: H&R ss, Max.motor. CC plates, or mid pipe and a mgw.. so that's what i'm deciding on right now.SoI wanted to know as much as possible about the X b4 i bought it.

Any sugestions on either the suspension work first or the mid pipe and ashifter would be great.

Maybe a maple capped, mahogany bodied, humbucker equiped strat......

Don't get me wrong, I hate both.....
