Header question
How important is it to get ceramic coated headers? I've seen many varieties of options such as stainless, chrome, black, ceramic coated chrome, etc. After a few thousand miles they end up discolored and looking like **** anyway right? So would it be wise to just save money and get black, or do the ceramic chrome keep its looks? And when you open the hood with chrome is it noticable? Or is it so tucked away that you wouldn't see them anyway?
The painted will rust as well as the HTS coating. The chrome and nickel will discolor horribly and eventually rust. The ceramic will look like new for a long time as well as keep underhood temps down...its definitely worth spending the extra cash for the ceramic coated...
Actually, I have ceramicheaders on mine and the only way to see the headers is if your looking for them. The ceramic looks great in my opinion though. it gives a cleaner look. The chrome will look good at first, but after a while you will be disappointed...

Cool thanks, how about the looks question? Are they very noticable when hood is up or would black be just as noticable?

We better not let the ricers see this post. We'll give them another idea....

It's not an old school muscle car. The engine bays are so cramped with wires and other doo-dads nowadays that you can't really see the headers unless they have flashing neon lights on them.
