Default HOLY ****!!!!!!!!

So I FIANLLY got the stang back last night. Had a brand new rear Differential put in, Motive 4.10 gears and while I was at it I decided to go ahead and get an O/R X-Pipe.

So here is how it went......I get to the shop and the mechanic decides to come out with me when I start her up (guess he had to see the look on my face). So I turn the key and she cranks up.........nice sound.....clean......crisp......very smooth...........So far I like what I hear. I pump the gas a little and hear that roar.....then I go ahead and WOT it and oh my god....this thing is so damn mean sounding......I damn near **** my pants.

So the shop kept her an extra day because they wanted it broke in properly.....as im leaving the mechanic tells me to get on it. As im leaving the parking lot I punch it. 4.10's were deffinaitely a good choice. I was spinning through third with ease..

Completly different car from what I left them with....Best of all gears are making absolutly no noise at all and this thing just runs so much smoother.......5th gear actually has pull now.

Only thing that I didnt quite like was that the X-Pipe tends to get a poppy right at about 2500 rpm's I dont know if im just getting used to it or what but the more I drove it the more it seemed to kind of deepen out and be les poppy.

an x-pipe will always have some pop, especially because you have a chambered muffler. and if it's o/r than it'll have more pop, this is just my experience. i've had an x on mac and magnapacks, and i definatly like the sound of it more on a straight through muffler. congrats on the mods though!

I'm not sure if the popping will go away completely, but I do know that exhaust takes a little while to break in. Once it does, it gets a little louder and smoother.

Did they drive your car around to break the gears in? You're suppose to drive it about 500 miles or so in heat cycles before you get on it.
