I have a pretty good relationship with this shop so they were relly cool with me..

cost me nothing but a tank of gas since it was all put under warrenty.......

mine pops rigth at about 2300rpm too

by the way since our cars are not 93 and older the emissions test where im at is a plug and play and since I have MIL's i should be ok

Just so happens that I have to go get my emissions done tonight. Im going to just take it to a regular place to see how it goes.......if I dotn pass I know a guy who knows a guy..(LOL) I do want to see how this goes though. I jsut have to make sure I pull in nice and quiet and that the guy dosent do a visual test.

Ill post tomorrow to let yall know how the emissions goes..

So I FIANLLY got the stang back last night. Had a brand new rear Differential put in, Motive 4.10 gears and while I was at it I decided to go ahead and get an O/R X-Pipe.

So here is how it went......I get to the shop and the mechanic decides to come out with me when I start her up (guess he had to see the look on my face). So I turn the key and she cranks up.........nice sound.....clean......crisp......very smooth...........So far I like what I hear. I pump the gas a little and hear that roar.....then I go ahead and WOT it and oh my god....this thing is so damn mean sounding......I damn near **** my pants.

So the shop kept her an extra day because they wanted it broke in properly.....as im leaving the mechanic tells me to get on it. As im leaving the parking lot I punch it. 4.10's were deffinaitely a good choice. I was spinning through third with ease..

Completly different car from what I left them with....Best of all gears are making absolutly no noise at all and this thing just runs so much smoother.......5th gear actually has pull now.

Only thing that I didnt quite like was that the X-Pipe tends to get a poppy right at about 2500 rpm's I dont know if im just getting used to it or what but the more I drove it the more it seemed to kind of deepen out and be les poppy.
Congrats,,....Now just add a supercharger (about 100 H.P more than now.....and you'll have my combo.....

I was actually suprised how mena this sounds. I mean you always hear everyone on here tell you that the X-Pipe is raspy. I coulndt disagree more. THis thing is not Raspy at all. Sounds so mean. Everytime I start up my car for someone to hear, it has a nice crank and then it idles so smooth....so smooth that everyone looks at me like whats so special about this......then I give her a good romp and the look on their face is like I just slapped their mom in the face. Everyone always jumps back and tells me how they feel it in their chest.

the one and only thing that I would say as a con for this pipe is the popping noice. I only really hear it at about 2300-2500 rpm when cruising. I have a feeling that this is popping becasue I have flowmasters (weld-ins ) I am deffinitly thinking about going with a nice cat-back.....I just have to figure out which one to compliment my X-pipe.

I actually had a shop that was able to get my third party warrnety dept to pay the bill....they even went ahead and got a brand new differential put in it..........only cost to me was the pipe, mil's, and gears....install and differential was all taken care of by the warrenty dept

What brand x-pipe did you go with? If it's BBK then I can tell you exactly why it pops.
I went with a MAC O/R X-Pipe

Do the BBK pipes tend to pop????
On a BBK mid pipe the x part is just a thin sheet metal box. This sheet metal is what makes all the poping noise. H pipes and x pipes that are made completely of real pipe don't have that loud poping sound. It's the flexing of the thin sheet metal that does it on the BBK x pipe.
