I just bought an 03 GT 5spd convert yesterday and while it's idling I noticed it's squeaking. At first I thought it must just be a belt, but I noticed the sound went away whenever I push the clutch in.....which leads me to the thought it's coming from the transmission.

So the question is if there is squeaking that disappears when the clutch is pushed in, and comes back when I release the clutch, what could that be?

Btw, I have no clue as to what's been done to the car. Of what I can see so far it has a Borla exhaust, BBK cai intake, and a strut tower bar. I have no clue if anything else was done.

Any advice?

Strange. There's got to be some gearheads that know what the deal is.

Is it a lack of fluid in there? Could it be a sign of a clutch going or flwheel?

 

doubt it's the clutch cause mine has 1000 miles on it and it's doing this... i took it to a trans. shop and even the guy said he wasnt' 100% sure but he thinks its a bad pressure plate... idk though

 

Ok so I spoke with an expert about this and he said that I need to get an adjustable clutch cable setup.
