Yeah, my tuner didn't set one... Something about a rev limiter and leaning out... I think I;ll have him put one on when I get the new set up. What ever that may be. I started a poll on another thread trying to decide on a 4v, a S/C, or all new stage 2 heads and cams! GO vote...

Damn man, be careful with the girl in the car, if she was scared enough to pretend to be pressing brakes I would let her sit the next out. [8D]

Your lucky you didn't throw a rod or some ****. WTF why don't you have some sort of rev limit? Even if you set it at 6500 (kinda ridiculous for a stock PI motor) you would have saved yourself 1300 RPM! Anyways, if the car is running fine through the RPMs and not making unusual noises along the way, I wouldn't worry about it too much. But, I would order a better shifter like yesterday and set a damn rev limit.
The rev limiter isn't mechanical... it will just stop you from over-revving it by pressing the gas (it cuts spark), if you downshift too far there is NOTHING stopping it from spinning to insane RPMs.

+1 something was weakened or damaged. itll poke its nose out in a little while. cant spin almost 8,000 on these 4.6's and think you got lucky. sucks but hopefully its something cheap.

Who do you guys think egged me on to try and beat a F-body? lol I am for the most part careful although I never let myself be cought up in a false sense of security. I understand and I don't make a habit of it...

Well if she egged you on then she's a cool girl. But next time just say something like "not here hun." Look at what happend with nick "hogan" and his passenger.

Anything can happen man. You're a cool guy and I don't wanna click on the general discussion forum one day and read a sad post about an accident.

We know you're smart and we're not giving you crap or anything. We just dont want to see anyone hurt.

Hope that engine is ok though man! Take care.
