So i was reading about the weight difference between a 04 GT coupe and a 04 GT convertible. There is almost 200 lbs difference. Where is this extra weight comming from and how can it be reduced???

 

the extra weight is reinforcement of the frame due to the convertible not having a permanant roof. The convertibles also have some subframe connectors, but they arent that effective. It cant be reduced without getting to the frame.
