Default window tint

i know this subject has been brought up before. I was just wondering if anyone ever tried to sand down those annoying black dots before getting windows tinted. If so how did it work out.

Most places that tintdo it, but it's next to impossible to make them perfect. Either way you're gonna end up with that little white line over them, the sanding just makes the film easier to stay on.....

I just got mine done, but I didn't have them sanded. For the back window I had them put on some black vinyl across the top - looks great! I got a windshield strip as well and had them just go over the dots. It turned out weird, but fine. It looks like the car has eyebrows now! Oh, and the dots go lower than you can legally with tint, so they're not covered all the way. I don't think it's that noticable though. With the rearview mirror there, it kinda takes your attention away from it I guess.

I think it looks fine, even with the eyebrows. I'll get some pics and post them later. My camera's been acting up and I couldn't get them last night.

Sanding the dots down will help. After the tint is applied, you should push it down every 12 hours or so. What I did was, I rolled up a t-shirt into a ball and ran it across the top of the rear windowto help keep the tint to stick to try to avoid it lookin bad. Just go back and forth a few times. This is what the guy at the tint shop told me to do. So far it still looks good. 2 years later.
