IRS?
level 5 half shafts are good to 900rwhp, but at 1400.00 moser solid 31 spline axles seem like a hell of a deal. Also STEEDA sells a nice kit I hear that practically eliminates wheel hop. If you want a car not soley for the 1/4 mile a well built irs is far superior to a solid axle, again only problem is $$$.
Well the main reason i was asking really is b/c a guy i know is building his son's stang and wants IRS to put under it. Also like i said there was a guy trying to do a even trade for SRA for his IRS. I didnt really understand why people didnt like the IRS b/c i have never drove a car with it. So i wanted to hear what every one on here had to say about it.
My IRS hopped alot with stock tires. Once I got the nitto's... only about 5-10% of the time I would hop on a hard launch. Some more bushing upgrades and that will cut that down even more.
I wouldn't change to a solid for a couple of reasons... 1) this isnt gonna be just a drag car, its gonna do some open tracking and some autocrossing. 2) Its really a smooth ride, everyone that doesnt know alot about mustangs think its gonna ride really rough (must be thinkin of the old school mustangs I guess[:-]) but they are surprised at how well it rides
The IRS in the 03/04 Cobra from the factory are only ok at best. But once you do some subframe connectors, bushings, sticky tires, springs... to me its the best of both worlds. I can still go out and drag race and run the autocross the next day without a problem. JMO
