Ok so why does every one hate IRS? I have never seen any one ask to have it and i have seen some post here or there asking people for a even trade for a 99-04 GT's rearend for there IRS. So i want to hear why everone doesnt like it. I think i might know but at the same time i figured i would just ask

Wheel hop with launches. It rides better than the solid rear, but that's about it. Plus, the axles are mor expensive. It's overall more expensive to build up to hold power than the solid rear.

^^^ Thats true to a point. Yes they wheel hop. BUT if you put a nice tire on them, it's nearly impossible to make it hop. And if it doesn't hop, it hooks VERY WELL!

I've been 1.66 60ft, and tons of 1.7x's without a hitch. And I have the 28spline model. The 31spline is stout.

its heavy, hops, and is expensive... I have a 31 spline, and it's somewhat strong, but if you start hoppin you better let off the gas and pray... lol

Overall I think the IRS is better if the car isn't purely track. It's a nicer ride and smoother. I'm not gonna put an IRS on the car, only cause it's not worth it to me. But it has it's ups and downs.

My IRS doesn't hop.

Simple set of Nittos fixed that.

It rides better, it rides smoother...and it'll hook just as well at the track. Stock 8.8 SRA's break just like IRS - the only difference is the IRS is much more expensive to repair.
