Default Instant Boost?

For all the times I've heard people say full boost instantly with a KB and then I see this Vid. If full means half then cool.

Doesn't matter how fast it gets to boost. Look at a dyno graph on a KB. The numbers fly straight up from the moment the gas is stomped. Personally I like the gradual climb of my procharger better though. It's a lot easier to get off the line without lighting the tires up.

I'm sure it would hit say 10psi a lot quicker than 20+ psi.

Either way man, you have to remember, it's driven by the engine. KB could have added a steeperset of internal gears to get the boost up quicker, but then you'd be spinning the crap out of it when trying to run smaller pullies.

doesn't look like most of the KB vids I have seen, but +1 on the PSI thing. It jumps instantly and then builds more and more.

just say it the understanding way, as you put your foot down boost goes up as fast as foot goes down with the kb. cinti chargers make boost after 3k rpm.

thats the way i understand it.

The closest thing you are going to find to instant boost, comes from a bottle.

what i was thinking is ok centri's make boost at 3k so what if i did 4.30's in my cobra? that would put me over 3k every shift so wouldent it be almost like a kb?

but i am prolly gonna do a tt down the road instead

Gearing has absolutly no effect on what RPM your car runs each gear in. The only thing to change will be the MPH at a stated gear/rpm.

If your shifting at redline (you should be) you will never see anywhere near 3K RPM after first gear. Watch your RPM next time you shift the car hard, on your cobra I wouldn't think you would ever see less than 4k.

The only time racing wise the no boost before 3k hurts you is from a roll, if you are stuck between gears and start out under no/little boost. From a stop (at least with the MT on) I never see a sitaution where I am not in boost... I launch at 4K and it never drops much below that the entire race.
