can someone explain to me why i would want to change my gears on my car. Or do u even need to change gears on an automatic.

most pople will do 4.10's in an automatic n/a

3.73'sf/i although some will do 4.10's with f/i

basically they get you up and going faster, the higher the gear you go(that is if your hooking)

+1 on most auto's changing to 4.10s. And the benefit of changing gears is that it basically will make you accelerate faster than with stock gearing. It doesn't give you more power, butbasically increasesthe amount of times the wheels spin per revolution of the driveshaft.

it acts as a tourque multiplyer sp? it will make you acclerate faster than the stock gears, if you hook up

The torque is multiplied through improved mechanical advantage when you numerically increase the ratio.

I think 4:10's would be to high of a gear for an auto. i have an auto and i like my 3:73's, But my next step would be a 3:90

cool thanks. I am thinkin about getting 3:73s but idk yet. I need to do some more research. But how hard is it on your car?
