Andrew's post got me thinking today, so I went out and took the spoiler off.
It didn't really look bad at all, though it did seem kind of naked. Perhaps it would have grown on me.
But the paint was rather chipped up around the 6 holes, and where the rear of the spoiler rested, you could tell there was some paint fade/small spots that were scratched and had some dark brown spots.
So I waxed the whole trunk lid, washed the spoiler, and put it back on.
Spoiler for the win.

I have actually been thinking about painting my spoiler black to go along with the MACh look as I already got the chin spoiler and grille delete... can't see paying the price they want for a shaker hood setup though
I've been thinking about going spoilerless, I dunno if I'd like it or not. Maybe if I would have kept/actually put on the bigs and skinnies that I bought I would have liked it, in fact I'm sure I would have. The spoiler-less look just needs a pair of fat rubber to look right IMO.
Heres another option. A local guy did this to a Mach 1. He cut down the posts of the spoiler about an inch, used some sort of epoxy, glued the base back on, and repainted it. It looks awesome. Sorry for the humongous pics, but I'm too lazy to resize them [8D]
