1/8 Mile Run - Is this slow as hell?
2002 GT, auto, coupe and stock engine/suspension.
Only mods so far:
Weld in flowmasters and silencer delete w/ drop in K&N.
60 FT Time: 2.393
Trap MPH: 75.1
Elapsed Time: 9.755
I ran that time with traction control on using D-2-D and launched at 1,200RPM (power brake)
Is this a decent time, or should I worry that my car isn't running up to par? I did fix a huge vacuum leak I had but there's still a faint one thatI haven't got to yet.

I did 2 passes. One with and one without. With traction off I ran a 10.2 becausethe carfishtailed when I brought it down to "2" and almost hit the barrier so I had to ease off the gas to regain control

Next time try these things:
*Do NOT power brake. Launch off of idle and ease into it. Don't floor it until you feel that you have traction.
*Leave your traction control OFF. If you launch how I suggested prior, you won't fish tail off the line.
*Leave the car in "D." Don't try to manually shift.
*Even with street tires, you might benefit from playing with your tire pressure. Don't make any drastic changes, but it'd be worthwhile to play within a 5-10 psi range.
Also, what is the elevation of your track? High elevation, high temps, and high humidity smother our cars. At or around sea level and average temps, your car should at least be in the low 9 range, like 9.15-9.3.
What kind of tires do you have, and what is their condition?

It will go a good bit faster than that. I drove a 04 gt auto that was bone stock down the track and run a 9.4x. Just keep practicing, you'll get the hang of it.

Good year tires man I haven't replaced them yet. I bought the car less than a month ago. They have around half the threading left. I'm in Miami so it's sea level elevation but high temps - 90*F or more

That seems about right. I ran my 04 auto gt with just flowmaster mufflers and a drop in air filter and air silencer delete. This is my best time.
60 ft 2.1624
1/8 ET 9.5494
1/8 MPH 74.50
The time I went before that I my best run was only a 9.7. Leave traction control off and leave it in drive. Also lower the tire pressure and that should get your 60s down. It all just depends on your track, temp and elevation. Compare your times to cars similar to yours at the track. My car running just as fast as other new edge mustangs at my track with the same type of mods.
