I noticed on sum sites, and even american muscle at sum parts it will say for years 01 - 04 for like heads or cams and stuff.. Arent 99-04 same motor?.. whats the difference between an 00 and an 01?

the 2001-2004 have the t-3650 transmission, and some sensors and little things are different like o2 sensors. but other than that, that should be it.

no they have different motors, they are bassically the same but they were made at different plants and have very minor differences. they call them windsor and romeo, i cant remember which is which.

windsor and romeo were made from 1999-2004 its just the names for where they were made a romeo has 11 bolts on the valve cover and windsor has 13/14 bolts

Romeo, Mi. and Windsor, Canada

Romeo uses bolt on can gears
Windsor uses press on cam gears
Romeo has camshaft girdles
windsor has camshaft caps
Romeo has 11 bolt valve covers
Windsor has 13 bolt valve covers
Romeo has jack screws in the main caps
Windsor has pins in the main caps

Yup, the '02 True Blue GTs with Romeos have 15 more horsepower than all the others.

if the 8th letter of your VIN is an X, then you have a Windsor block, if the 8th letter of your VIN is a W, then you have a Romeo block.... the letters don't really make sense, but that's what the guys at Anderson Ford said when we ordered my dad's cams...

I have a 2004 GT which apparently has the "Windsor" block. I checked my VIN and the 8th letter is an X.

So much for the 99-00 Windsor / 01-04 Romeo theory.
