Default gear differences

I hear alot of people getting 3.73's or 4.10's and 4.11's and what not. Well like i say im new to cars and mods and stuff . Whats the difference in the gears. What will each one help improve. I hear 4.10s make it faster off the gate and mid range but slack off at high end. is that true. And what would you suggest or prefer on a 01 gt.

if you get 3.73's, you'll be pissed that you didn't get the 4.10's.

cool, so 4.10's ftw... do 4.10's really makebad topend speed. And will my car actually feel and pull harder with the 4.10's. And would i need a tune when i get them, and if so i was gonna get the diablo predater tuner. Would i as a non car tech be able to use the predator to tune it for the 4.10's.

I just had my 4.10's put in and LOVE IT! it pulls alot harder than stock..you top end will be lower but why top it out anyway...its not about how fast your going its about how fast you get to how fast your going (torque ftw!)...to me the only bad part about getting the 4.10's is the gas mileage but it just makes it so much more fun to drive..trust me its worth it..

Just wanted to note that there's no difference between 3.90 and 3.91or 4.10 and 4.11. Different companies just call them something different.

That's a myth. Ratio is calculated by dividing numbers of teeth on each gear. There aren't enough combinations to get a 4.10 and a 4.11. My 3.90s calculate out to something like 3.90824 if I remember right. It's just that Motive likes to call that ratio "3.90" and Richmond calls it "3.91", which is actually more accurate. Who really cares though, it's close enough.

Im doing 3.73's for the simple fact of highway crusing. Plus with 4.10's youll top out at like 110 on the highway...I can get 12 more MPH with the 3.73s, plus wont loose as much traction and fuel economy.

Not true... you dont necessarily lose traction..my goodyears f1'shook up just fine andi have done 120 somethin (almost 130) in my car with 4.10's, o/r h pipe, and flowmasters...so you dont really lose your top end
