Default camshaft

From what I've been hearing putting in a new cam is the most cost effective way to increase HP. I have a 2000 gt and want to know what all goes into putting in a new cam. Is it just a new tune or is there more to it than that? Also, I want to keep the car reliable and streetable, but I'd also like a decent lop to it. Any suggestions? Thanks.

The most cost effective way of adding horse power is an 75shot of NOS.
I would change your cam when you change your heads.
Comp or VT....... see to be the best.
