98 LS1 Z28s were rated at 310hp. Supposedly underated from 345hp. Mine ran 12.72 (rolling gently into the throttle) with street tires , full-bolt ons, stall, gears, and tune,it ran 13.33 stock. Easily could've run low 12s with DRs, but rear was way to weak for DRs.Dynoed 345rwhp/400rwtq.I think it weighed about 3600lbs.
Don't do it unless you and him just want something to do.

There are ways to beat even a lightly modified LS1 with your stock GT...... And I mean BONE STOCK.....

See he is a torque monster.... If he is just a semi experience driver:

1)Have him start from a dig..... This power will spin him off the line given you the upper edge in the launch department since our New Edges are pretty lame on a take off......

2) You then cut your wheel all the way in his direction of travel......

3) By that time he would have started to hook up andslightly passed you... giving you the PERFECT target for any rear wheel drive vehicle....

4) It takes only a little bit of force from a carbut the slightest nudge in any direction towards the@$$ end of a highpowered rear wheel drivevehiclewill spin it out of control....

5) As he is spinning and trying to save his LS1 from a terrible fate.... you then circle pass him and continue with the race with onlyslight damage done to your New Edge.

REMEBER..... WINNING IS WINNING!!!! lol

P.I.T Manuever. I think it stands for precision immobilization technique.

Both that and the Pursuit Intervention Technique.
