Default Stroker questions for new edge gt

Well i'm thinking about getting another gt and if i do i was wanting to get a stroker kit...but i don't know much about them. Like where to buy from and what all is included with them..I know mostly how they work but not 100% positive, sorry to sound clueless, i just havn't done anything internal wise to a car so i would like to know what all would be changed before i get into this. (would have professionally installed)
Prices? would it be worth it on everything being stock? Any help/information is much appreciated.

Thanks.

IMO, strokers are a waste of $$ on a 2V.

what are your reasons for wanting the stroker? if its power your wanting then ill give you the heads up now, the 4.6 sohc motors SUCK n/a....they need boost whether it be from a supercharger, turbo, or nitrous....to make more than 350rwhp you will need FI.

if its just the sound then go with a big cam and be done with it

If you're already getting a new forged motor then spend the extra $500 and get a stroker. If you're getting a forged motor just becuase you want to make it a stroker then its a waste.

Depending on the situation a stroker isn't always a good idea. They simply don't seem to add much power, but they do mess up the stroke/bore ratio a bit and it causes you to need a larger blower per horsepower as well. IMO its just not worth it on a 2v.

Strokers are over exaggerated. They create more tq than actual hp. It's not that you won't get any gain in a 2v, but to rebuild the entire motor just to go stroker is silly. Also, you cannot just stroke an engine without matching valvetrain with it. Thecar just wouldn't run right. You'll spend 5-6k just forging and stroking your 2v...Your better off buying a mach or cobra drop in motor from a salvage yard, or strapping a s/c with 8psi onto the stocker 2v.

stroking a 4.6 sounds appealing, but its a small displacement V8. Strokers are usually reserved for bigger motors.. HOWEVER it is your vehicle and if its power you want, a Cobra motor and/or supercharger will put you over what you can gain from stroking. If you want the stroker sound (which i dont think can be duplicated) then go for it, but it wont be cheap.
