Have you ever been pulled over for you stang being TO LOUD... If so whats the story...

I been pulled 2 times within 2 1/2 weeks of having o/r upr x pipe and slp lm1's ( by the same deputy) luckily I didnt get a ticket because he couldnt find anything in his ordinance book about how loud is to loud. All it said was to have a working muffler. I told him i wasnt getting on it ,its just loud like that sir, so he told me to prove him wrong and drive around the parking lot ( when he pulled me i pulled into a church parking lot) , i did a lap around the parking lot,and he told me it was louder then a harley or those hondas with the TIPS .... lol..... He ended up saying he wasnt trying to harass me , and told me to try and keep it as quite as i could.

there is a specified db level your car has to be within... but basically if you have cats and mufflers then there is nothing they can do about it - because thats all DOT approved

There is a specified dB level, but I believe it is different in every state. I can't remember what it is in CA

A lot has to do with the area you're in. Major cities they could care less because they have more important things to worry about while the small towns and counties will look for anything to pull you over since they don't have much else to do. Not to mention if they pulled you over and you had a warrant or something you'd be the biggest score of the week to them.

+1 In houston I have no worries, but back at school where the population of the city is half the school I get rubber necked all day by cops. Havent been pulled over for it yet though *knock on wood*.

I got pulled over a week after I turned 18. I was in traffic [nyc] I reved my motor and set off 3 car alarms. the cop was up ahead directing traffic, he told me to pull over. after giving him my license n stuff he comes bac wit a criminal court ticket for noise pollution not a dmv traffic ticket. I asked the officer y it was criminal and not traffic n he sad he gave it to me so that it didn't affect my license. I had to go to court n winded up getting 7hr community service lol for noise
