Default Experiences with BBK Lt's

Does anyone have em' on their 99-04 GT? The reason i ask is because i want to get Bassani Cat back, and Bassani X pipe. Wanted to throw the bbk lt's on there to save $. Will the bbk lt's be worth it or should i wait?
Thanks,

Wait for what? I think you need the bbk shorty mid pipe to go with the bbk headers. If you're looking to do all Bassani, save up (if that is the waiting you're referring to) and get the midlengths. I have lts and am wishing I had bassani midlengths because I think I have to replace my starter now. LTs make tranny, clutch and starter work a PITA, keep that in mind.

Thanks, alot bro. I was not aware of all those problems lt's caused. Maybe i will do the bassani mids instead. But how about performance? Will i lose alot going with the mids as opposed to longs?

Thanks,

If there is a loss its probably not much. But I'd call bassani and ask them about their setup before you go and order stuff. Its a lot of money to spend if you don't end up getting what you're looking for.

That makes plenty of sense. My goal is to break 300 h.p. at the crank. I was thinking with the bassani cat back, x-pipe, and headers, along with a chip and dyno tune hopefully i will be there. Thats all the power i want, just something to wake the car up.

Thanks,

My opinion: midlength and shorties aren't worth the trouble. They don't have very good power gains. Go with LT's. I'm expecting 20+ rwhp going from stock exhaust to LT's and O/R H-pipe on my car. Mid's and shorties might give you 4-5 rwhp from what I've read.

Thanks, thats what i've heard as well. It just kinda scare me to hear that its hard to get to some of the other items on the car, and i was reading somewhere else that the extra heat may mess up stuff under the hood.

Thanks, for your posts 99Gt. Did you see some nice gains, and or are you happy with your bbk LT's?

Thanks,
