Default question about 2v

does anyone thing they deserve alittle more respect than they get i mean i know they are def not the fastest but look at the lt1 350 compared to the 4.6 2v i think our little 2vs compare very well with some bigger motor cars

i love it when our 4.6s are compared to a 5.7. we get sh*t about our cars being slow.. really??? camaros and firebirds have awhole 1.1 liter more than our stangs . its so much easyer to get more horsepower from simplebolt ons with more cubic inches to start with!

No I don't think they deserve any more respect... Our motors may last a long time but no they don't compare to 350's. Hp sucks and the only way to keep up is to spend 5 grand NA or 4 grand S/C.... We got the **** end of the stick when it comes to engine performance but I still think we look better.

I would rather look good then be fast.... I havn't liked Cameros since '73 and the only TA's I like are from '67 to '79 and the late '90's + newer ram air ones.

Camero's are just plain butt ugly, I'll take my slow GT over one any day.

The one thing I've noticed when comparing buying parts for Chevy's or Fords is that Chevys are easier and cheaper to mod hands down compared to Fords, they always have been.

I noticed this 24 years ago as a kid, since I have been away and checking things out now and it is still true to this day.

Chevy's are cheaper to make go faster then Ford's, they always have been.

I think that is why more people get Chevy's because dollar for dollar, a Chevy/ GM product VS. a Ford product you get more mods for your $$$. More bang for buck if you will.

I'll take my slow expensive to mod GT over a cheap *** Camero any day thank you.....

The only real reason the 2v has a bad rap is because it is now constantly compared to the LS1 F body and corvette cars. Look at almost any engine setup before the LS1 and boltons for boltons the 2v is fairly comparable.

Lets put it this way, if GM had killed the Fbody in 97 instead of 02 and never came out with a Fbod LS1 car I bet you would hear alot less complaints about the 2v. Its defintatly not a monster HP maker in n/a form... but what the hell. Its only a 281...what do you expect?

didn't we have the 2v vs 4v thread last week? now it's 2v vs 5.7? i agree with 2000, quit the bickering about why 4.6 isn't the best compared to others

i dont know about everyone else but if i wanted a huge power plan i wouldnt of bought the GT i would have gotten a 4v instead. The F-Bodys are fast but its more to a car than just power. I prefer the comfort and style of my car a lot over the F bodys. And I wouldnt say by no means the PI 2v is slow. Its faster than a lot of other cars out there its just not as fast as everyone here wants it to be. Ill just always abide by the phrase. You can make a mustang fast but you can never make a camaro look good. Look how much faster our cars are than most rice.

I always get my friend mad when I tell him to stop comparing his car to mine and compare it to a cobra. He has a 01 ss by the way.

+1, I mean, a full bolton, gear, cammed 2v with the right tires will hit 12's. So really when you think about it, thats movin for a 281 c.i.d. motor. Try to get a little chevy 283 to go 12's. My buddy has a 65 chevelle with a 283 with intake, carb, exhaust, and it wont even power brake....so considering what we have to work with I think our little 2vs move pretty good...
