5.0 = older than 4.6= less hp
those bolt ons aren't gonna make up the hp.
plus his is an auto.
you shouldn't have any problem.
i race one this past saturday. we were rolling from 40. his car sounded much louder than mine. I left him on 4th.

yeh for some reason i feel like hes not telling me something like he says he has a shift kit and 3.73's but there not installed yet and for some reason it sounds like he has a mild cam how ever i could be wrong i just feel like theres something hes not telling me. also because his car is light do you guys think it would be better to go from a dig or a roll.

You do realize that those notchbacks are just as torquey as your car, but are a whole lot lighter right? Weight makes a huge difference. And when you say intake are you refering to the manifold?

So what do youmean when you say hes got a "plenum"? Those cars really don't have a plenum. It is just an upper and lower intake manifold. Ifhe told you hes got a plenum, he probably has an aftermarket intake manifold. In which case, they can add some 20-25 hp on the 5.0's. I think it will be a good race, could go either way depending on what mods he really has.

+1
If he has an intake manifold like a Cobra or GT40 or other manifolds along with the other mods mentioned I believe he may be quicker. Those damn5.0s are quick, even with an auto tranny. With my old 96 GT I had a t/b, plenum, pulleys, CAI, o/r x-pipe, and catback and a 90 5.0 Auto Hatchback with only CAI, pulleys, and cat-back exhausttook me from a 10mph roll. BTW I was able to take a stock 99-04 GT off the line to about 90mph, then he would catch up.
