the only thing the trunk is good for is holding that spare donut tire and the jack, which you should take out to take some weight off. i know its not much but, i personally would never drive a donut on my GT, so why have the extra weight for no reason? the only other reason to open the trunk is to put in and take out the golf clubs haha

 

I keep the spare, its a little added weight over the rear, similar to moving the battery back there, every little bit helps.
