Default misfiring

i was driving my friends 01 GT. im thinking of buying it since my 96 is giving me too many problems. he told me that it misfires sometimes probably from needing a tune up. well when i drove it it was fine while it was still cold. but once the motor warmed up it started misfiring like crazy. any idea on what would be causing this? if its an easy fix ill buy the car but if its complicated ill look elsewhere. thanks.

it was baaaaad. like i tried to slam on the gas and u'd think the car would go. instead......ok! heres a diagram

the "I" will benormal acceleration

the "O" will bea misfire.

so a good car will go:

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

a car thats mildly misfiring would go:

IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII IIOIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII

my friends car went:

IOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOIOX

the "X" is when i said "wtf?"

lol i dunno if that makes sense to anyone but yeah. thats the best i can do lol.

lol. he's selling it to me for 6k and it has 89k miles on it. i think that may be a good deal. right? if its the plugs covered in oil then it might be the valve seals right? i dunno! i dont think ill find another GT for that cheap so id really like to see if i can just fix it. i wanna get rid of this damn 96 cause im sick of the problems that keep popping up. just today on my way to work it started to make a really loud whining noise until i let off the clutch which i presume is the throwout bearing getting ready to take a poop. GRRR! [:@]i hate this car!
