Will 3" exhaust fit a 2000 gt?
The reason I ask is I just bought hooker super comp long tubes. They have 3" collectors and I thought for the minimal price difference and to be a little bit original I would just take it all the way back. I also wondered if anyone knows of a 3" h pipe for these cars if it will fit under there. Thanks guys.

3" is not a good idea unless you're heavily modded. Even most cobra's that put it on dont need em. You can but it might hurt performance. I have those same headers though! I love em!!!!!

i dont agree with what everyone said... if you plan on blowing the car later down the road just go with the 3inch if you just want to do full exhaust and nothing else then go with 2.5

I bet you anything that even if he had a built twin turbo motor he wouldnt need 3" exhaust.
Think about it. Your average deisel truck with bolt ons that makes 800+ rwtrq and 500+ hp uses ONE 3" - 3 1/2" exahaust pipe and some of the really big boys use one 4" with no troubles at all. What makes you think your little 4.6 will ever push out enough exhaust gases to need 6" total of exhaust piping (2 x 3")

3" exhaust will really hurt your performance. You need to be pushing around 600 rwhp with a blower to get any kind of benifit out of that size exhaust.
With a 3" exhaust the exhaust gasses cool to fast and the velocity slows which causes backpressure. Backpressure is bad because it causes the engine to work harder to get the spent exhaust gasses out of the combustion chamber. You want to stay with 2.5" exhaust to keep your velocity and flow up to make more horsepower.
(I know some tard is going to get on here now and say "you need backpressure", someone always does)
