I wish it had a better handle though like Hurst's handle... that thing is sexy!

I'm looking for a nice **** now though.
You can order a different shift **** if you want, i am sure you could find a T handle somewhere.
I'm thinking about doing something like that... I'm not sure though, I sorta like the ball look but at the same time that T handle looks comfortable. I'm going to mess with the height of the shifter tomorrow to see if that helps with the shifts because it feels like I have no leverage.

Thats a good way to describe the feel of it, but you get used to it. Just give it time.

Any short shifter decreases the amount of "leverage", that's how theymake the throw shorter. The shift rod traveland side-to-side throw in the tranny are fixed distances, and an aftermarket shifter shortens the travel at the shift **** through a combination of raising the fulcrum and shortening the lever--both of which reduce leverage and increase the force required to shift, that's just the way it is.Raising the **** will increase the leverage and reduce the amount of effort required to move between gears, the **** stud on the MGW is rather long (I have actually cut mine down 5/8" or so) and using spacers under the **** will raise it and reduce the effort. There isn't much adjustment the handle itself, maybe 1/4" tops and even if raised by just that amount you would be reducing the contact area of the handle clamp by 15% or so--not recommended.

Didn't notice any changes in sound after installing mine. I ordered the new inner boot from MGW and installed that. The shifter definitely gets less notchy and smoother after awhile...either that or over time I have just gotten used to it, but I remember it being much "notchier" after I first installed it then I do now. Very smooth now, love it.
