I got hit back in june. The girl messed up my driver fender, mirror and door. I made her ins pay me for a new door, new mirror, new fender, new wheel (sons bike fell and nicked it) paint the hood (I scratched it by accident when I but the hood on in april), 4 new tires (had a tire shop say they have flat spots for slamming on my brakes with no ABS). I got a check for $2700 and fixed the car for around $200. I bought drag radials to replace the 2 tires that actually did have flat spots and used the rest for new patio furniture.

Its not your ins company so take them for what you can get.

I'm still curious to know how the hood would be messed up when the driver door got nailed...unless the chico's vehicle was moving fast.

 

the hood could be bent from maybe the fender moving.... yet these hoods are not made of steel... well... they are steel and fiberglass.... maybe it moved its brackets some. when he hit the door he pushed the car sideways and like you said, into a curb, so that could have knocked off the alighnment. also causing this vibration since the cars alignment is off and the wheel is possibly unbalanced from the wreck as well. for the gauge thing its probably something is grounded or something in the wiring in the door got messed up... it shouldnt be the fuse panel since that is under the dash. normally when the gauges do that it means the battery is ready to go or something so check the battery and see if it got cracked during the accident and get the alternator tested.

 

also... thinking about it... depending on how it was hit and everything... wouldnt the car pull to the left since it was a left side impact? it pulls to the right though since the wheel hit the curb knocking the alignment off maybe even bending a tie rod. i'd have to see the car to know but thats what it sounds like from what you said.

 

dont quote me on this, but when my car got hit the fuel pump cut off(theres a sensor when your car takes impact the sensor cuts off the fuel pump restricting any fuel from leaking from the engine/fuel lines, compliments off your friendly Ford Pento from dangerous rear end collisions exploading) maybe your fuel pump is off(unless youve driven it farther than 200 feet) the car sorta stalls without fuel but putters along for a little bit
