Default Tranny Flush!1

I had a blow out and the tire shop that iis going to change my tire tomorrow said they do tranny flushes too. i really need one bad and they quoted my $170 for that becuse they said thatford uses a special fluid that is more expensive. does that seem kind of steep? and theny also quoted me $90 for a reardiff. fluid change.

$170?!?! They promise to lube that up before you bend over and take it up the tailpipe? Go find a different shop. You can use any Mercon V ATF production for your fluid. The place I go to here, which is very reputable, charged $75 for either a flush through the cooler or to drop the pan and change the filter.

Wow man that's pretty rough. Changing tranny fluid takes about 15 minutes, and cost 4 quarts of synchro mesh. I changed my diff fluid today. Piece of cake. Can't believe people pay that much money when you can do both in an hour with about $20-$30.
