Default Gauge Overlay Install Question

OK, I have my overlays installed and hooked up and they work fine. However the relay that came with the overlay has additional wiring for a switch for the relay itself. I can't for the life of me figure out how to bypass this switch so the relay works off of the headlight switch. And yes I have the relay wired into the positive lead coming off the headlight/dimmer wiring harness. This is driving me nuts.

How many wires are off the relay? The headlamp switch is a relay all in it's own. You can't run a relay into another relay. Get rid of the relay they give you and just splice the wires directly into the headlamp switch.

Its a relay/inverter the gauges won't illuminate without it. There is a positive lead (connected to the switch 12v off the headlight harness), a negative lead (grounded to the metal bar behind the dash), a pair of wires that plug into the gauges and a pair of wires that plug into a little on/off switch. I want to eliminate this external switch if possible.

you should be able to simply cut off the wires going to the switch. ground the black one, run the red one to the headlight wire(forgot which one, for some reason im thinking grey/lt blue).

The only problem I see with that is that the provided switch is a plunger type that toggles the power to the inverter each time the circuit is closed. I could probably figure it out no problem if I had a proper wiring diagram of the headlight switch assembley. The stupid Haynes book just has a block representing the assembley.
