if you go to a local shop, having the hot parts and piping made is not that expensive, it would be extremely reasonable to say that you could a single turbo setup installed and probly tuned for 4k at a local turbo guru.

again the biggest advantage to the turbo even at the same or lower power level, is torque, and power band and it makes a HUGE difference, but make not mistake doing a turbo is not as simple as it sounds. Also driving a turbo car is not as simple as it sounds, the real reason alot of stock 2v motor guys have blown their motors is because of howa turbo can ramp up and "get away" from you, kinda like a centri but faster, there are just so many vairables in the internet racing and comparisions that we do that most of the time we end up blowing smoke, if your serious about what you doing you need to go to local shops, talk to pros get in some cars and find out what can be done and for how much in your area... and even find out what you really want out of the car.. we talk alot of mess about big power and fast cars, I can tell you right now I NO interest in riding in a 8 sec car, the point is that you might be suprised just how fast and enjouyable a car with 400, 500 or 600 rwhp can be and how dangerous EACH of them can be also

You might think that... but then when you get to that point you may have another opinion. I have well over 15K in mods either installed or previously installed and discarded (like pulleys, other tunes, etc) and I am having a HARD time writing the check for the forged shortblock, fuel system, etc etc.

it starts to get exponetially more expensive the more power you want to make. Its not just a 3000-3500 dollar shortblock, its all that plus the 1100+ dollar tank and pumps, the fuel system, new tunes, etc etc etc. Lots and lots of money.

I AM at that point and I know what your saying, I have thousands sunk into my 2v. Butjust because you cant afford it right away doesnt mean its never going to happen, i guess it just depends on how little or not so littlemoney actually means to you.

both of my buddys in my mustang group have brand new 07 GTs. Both have same trannys and mods only differance is one has a Roush Blower and the other has a Hellion Turbo kit. My one buddy with the roush blower is putting down 425hp on 10psi of boost. My other buddy with the turbo is laying down 487hp on 8psi of boost. Off the line the roush gets him by almost 2 cars but once in second gear and threw 5th the turbo GT beats him by about 2-2.5 cars. They both are auto's so it aint the way they shift. I believe turbo's create more power with less boost.

Its not really boost also, its cfm.. even though its complicated to differentiate between the two, in most cases the centri s/c hp max will be about 50 hp (or whatever the parasitic loss is) less than an equivilant turbo car, so in that sense you get more power out of a turbo right there, but another difference is torque, genneral a centri will have equal or 100 or so less torque than a turbo car, depending upon how high in the hp range you get, the turbo on the other hand can often have even more torque than horsepower, even in crazy 1000 hp setups turbos often will have with 200-100 tq of its max hp on v8 apps.
Anyway, remote setups are good way to go, just not on 99-04 mustangs, the chasis is just really not conducive to it... the systems work great, but the logistics on the 99-04 just dont work out. Also remote systems will general not be able to make more than 500 or so rwhp... they are easier in a sense, but also more complocated, you have to have a secondary oil pump and lines and its just a mess, they are great if you dont have the room for a front mount turbo, but they are not easier, cheaper or better for our mustangs and ill leave it at that

i will be getting a hp kit for my car hopefully here within a few weeks. its just because i could upgrade to like a ysi (for like 3k) or sell my kit and put a couple grand on top of it and get a turbo kit that will do the same... and be different than all the cars in this area. there are over 10 supercharged mustangs (not including 03-04 cobras). and one TTcobra

That HP kit will be pretty sweet. You definitly need to post some pics and numbers once you're done. You should post your s/c numbers and psi then your turbo numbers & psi. Makes you wonder if turbo kits would come down in price if more people chose them over s/c kits.

a bullitt with a turbo kit was running 11's on drag radials on bullitt replicas at 117..... home built kit, him and his buddy offer for like 4k installed and built you left your car with them for like a week or two.. stock block 8 or 9 psi did 430rwhp, and over 500lb ft of torque... his buddies 2v stang did high 11s at 115..... not something i have ever seen from a normal bolt on supercharged car.
