Whats goin on guys??? Well i just ordered new Hawk brake pads for my 01 GT. Ive never installed brakes before. But ive heard it a piece of cake. ive also heard that the rear brakes need a special tool to remove. Any info would be appreciated. thanks guys!!!

a local automotive shop will have these tools (Autozone, Pep Boys, Kragen etc..)

the fronts you can get the tool or just use a C-Clamp to push the piston back in and the rears its a special tool with two forks in it that you have to twist and push- to push back the piston back into the rear caliper.

Since it is your first time, MAKE SURE you pump the brakes after you are done with the install. This will reset the pistons to the new pads. If you don't and just drop the jack and drive, you will not have any brakes! Also, another good thing to remember is use brake cleaner to clean all surfaces before you install the new pads. And if your rotors are even slightly grooved, have them turned. It doesn't cost much and your pads will last twice as long.
