no, the 460's dont have a sub.. from what i understand. they just have 2 speakers with a built in box on the top of the trunk which gives the speakers more bass.
another question - i was looking at the black box today, and i couldn't see how to take the box off... can somebody tell me how to take it off and with what tools. thanks a lot. im swapping everything out tomorrow!

I also took that box out. It's not that hard. Just relocate the 2 amps somewhere ( i put them on the sides of my sub box), and slide the subs in there. It makes everything look so much cleaner, and more trunk space.

Not to steal thread.
Can you put just a sub in there and connect it to the 460 amps? I have an 8inch sitting in my closet that i didnt know i had. Just seeing if i could put it in there.

Its really easy to take out.
Get in your car (with your trunk popped), and get in the back seat. Fold down both seats, and unbolt the "head rest" that was right above the seats. Now, the top part of the trunk thats INSIDE the car (where the speaker covers are), bends a little bit, and you need to unhook it from the sides of the car.
Once this is done, a couple nuts and it drops. Be careful though, it WILL drop.
I can't remember if there is a way to disconnect it, but since I didn't use ANY of the original sound system or cables, I just cut it. If you do this, PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE remember to disconnect the battery first.....
