does the brand of cold air intake really make a difference.

What got your panties in a wad? He's pretty damn close to being right. Hell I'm glad I didn't waste any more money than I could have on the cheap-o CAI that I bought. Shoulda went with the K&N+stocker setup.

they are all slightly different and they dont add much power anyways so just go with what you like

The filter used and the placement of the CAI and how well it seals off the CAI from the engine heat are critical. I have a 06 4.6L with a K&N and it made a difference on mine big time

ur buying the name on the box yea but then again they have that name on the box for a reason uk??? sooo they had to have done something right in the pass to get there lol
