Default stainless vs aluminized

I can get a a MAC catback and MAC Prochamber, brand new for less than $500 shipped.
Both are none stainless.

I live in an area where it really doesn't snow... maybe 1/2" the whole year. No snow = no salt.
I drive through rain though, don't know if that really matters.

So tell me your honest opinions about this.. I'd love to get this setup, but don't feel like paying $400 for a stainless Prochamber and $400 for a stainless MAC catback. I COULD.. but I don't want to.

I'd get the cat-back in stainless. I went aluminized on my GT and regret it. It gets dull after a few months and the tailpipes discolor. I got the stainless for the Cobra and couldn't be happier. I don't think the mid-pipe matters that much since you don't really see it.

i would go stainless the whole way. sucks to spend the money, but if your planning on keeping it for awhile, save up and do it right the first time

Stainless does look good, but are you gonna see under your car that much? I would say get the stainless if the thought of having the aluminized pipe scares you, but i dont think the stainless is neccessary.

i have stainless but when it gets dusty it all looks the same. the real problem with aluminized is inconsistancies in the prep/coating. the pipe on my truck is aluminized and doing great but i have seen others peppered with rust after 1 year. if you plan on keeping the car i would just get the stainless... then you know you will do it once. until you decide you need long tubes...[sm=badbadbad.gif]

**** you guys... you were supposed to say "Aluminized steel will work perfectly fine"

Bitches [8D]

I really do not like the idea of having aluminized... it sounds so baseball bat-ish.
*sigh* I hate you guys (I really love you though I swear)

Here in Florida, no snow ever and absolutely no salt unless you live right on the beach, there is no reason to get stainless unless you just like the look. I've got a UPR "aluminized" X-pipe and a Magnaflow catback with "aluminized" tailpipesand stainless tips (the Magnaflow mufflers are stainless). The X-pipe and tailpipes alllook like new over a year and 35k miles later.I had a custom"aluminized" "headerback" exhaust on my '92 Miata for over 5 years down here--looked like new + one year...

Now that's what I like to hear! Maybe an aluminized prochamber with a stainless catback, just for the looks.
